We are happy to accommodate private parties, fundraising events and business meetings of any size. Rental pricing is based on the date selected and the size of your event. BOOKING REQUIREMENTS
To book an event we require a 40% non-refundable deposit, a signed contract and a signed credit card authorization form for the $200 security deposit. The remainder of the facility rental fee and staffing charges are due 14 days before your event. Wines purchased for the event will be invoiced at the conclusion of the event and payment is due at the event’s end. You will be responsible for clean-up; otherwise, the security deposit will be forfeited.
James River Cellars does NOT have catering on site. You are welcome to bring in any licensed caterer of your choice. Beer may be brought onto the premises with the appropriate ABC license obtained by you or your caterer; however, NO liquor or outside wines are permitted.
PRIVACY
While facility rentals entitle you to exclusive use of the areas contractually booked for your event, the winery will remain open during regular business hours. The winery can be reserved exclusively for an event after 7 pm.
Montpelier Room
Accommodates up to 72 people total / 50 people seated.
This small banquet room includes round tables and white chairs. Additional cocktail or rectangular tables can be provided upon request.
Hanover Room + Ashland Overlook
Accommodates up to 35 people seated or 50 guests for a cocktail style event.
This small banquet room includes round tables and white chairs. Additional cocktail or rectangular tables can be provided upon request.
Lawn & Pavilion
Accommodates up to 150 people
Intended for groups larger than 32 people. This 45’x80’ Pavilion area provides a spacious covering over a stone patio with a tapered retaining wall on three sides. Includes round tables, cocktail tables, and rectangular tables with white chairs for up to 150 guests. In addition to the main Pavilion structure, this rental option includes a secondary tented structure, which can be used for a band stage. A spacious lawn is adjacent to the pavilion.
Partial Pavilion Booking
Accommodates up to 32 people, per side
Intended for groups of 32 people or smaller. Intended for groups looking for reserved space that do not need the full pavilion rental. Partial rental comes with a covered space under the pavilion and 4 round tables, with 8 chairs at each. Additional 6-foot or 8-foot rectangular tables are available upon request. This area will be shared with public seating, outside of the reserved space.
