Rad Red of James River Cellars Winery   Rad Red of James River Cellars Winery   $15

A red table wine with a smooth beginning and light, velvety finish, this blend displays sultry berry tones through Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. Soft in tannins with nice, balanced acidity, the Rad Red is great after a long day at the office, and was created with the focus to slow down and appreciate life.

Portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Massey Cancer Center.

Petit Verdot of James River Cellars Winery
Petit Verdot red wine of James River Cellars Winery
Only available
for Wine Club members!!
$32

This powerful, glass-staining wine appears to have dripped out of the tip of a ballpoint pen. Bold with smoke, pepper, and spice, the Petit Verdot is pushing Cabernet Franc for the claim of Virginia’s official red. Traditionally French in origin, Petit Verdot was made famous via lending its attributes to many Bordeaux blends, eventually becoming a stand-alone varietal.

Cabernet Franc of James River Cellars Winery
Cabernet Franc red wine of James River Cellars Winery
Sold out!!
$16

This is Virginia Cab Franc at its best. Rich, spicy, and with aromatic characteristics, it is visually lighter in pigment than our Cabernet Sauvignon, due to the nature of the juice. It provides a full and balanced sophistication, with excellent complexity when laid down.
Cabernet Franc, like Merlot, has traditionally been a part of the blend used to create Bordeaux red wines. The climate in Virginia seems agreeable to this grape variety and many notable vintages have been produced. The increasing popularity of this wine is helping to boost the reputation of premium wine producers in Virginia.

Merlot of James River Cellars Winery
Merlot red wine of James River Cellars Winery
Only available under Monitor vs. CSS Virginia label!
$20

The Merlot grape is low in tannins and makes wine that matures faster and is softer in texture. Merlot is often blended with bold reds in order to soften the strong tannic acids and allow the wines to be consumed much earlier. Select Merlots can have long aging potential but most are ready to consume in 4 to 8 years.

Our Merlot is well balanced with a rich and silky texture. With a big cherry nose and round tannins Merlot is ready for your finest meal with your favorite guests. Since it is a medium bodied wine it really shines when paired with game birds, veal or pork. It is great for just sipping too.

  $30
This multi-vintage blend highlights the best performing Bordeaux varietals in Virginia. This velvety blend of 70% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, showcases rich coffee tones and a decadent whiff of pipe tobacco on the finish.

for Wine Club members!!
$30

This first release of our estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon pairs our best French Oak barrel and American Oak barrel from the 2008 vintage. Barrel aged for 16 months, this complex wine that blends the best of old world and new world styles, had a limited production of 48 cases. This wine was left unfiltered to enhance the elegant black cherry finish and the rich tannins from this exceptional season.

Hanover of James River Cellars Winery
Hanover red wine of James River Cellars Winery
Only available
under Lee's Last Stand label .
$15

Hanover is a soft, supple, semi-dry red table wine. This extreme blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Chancellor is a local favorite. It begins sweet on the tip of the tongue, then finishes light and dry, making it a little too easy to drink.

Chambourcin of James River Cellars Winery
Chambourcin of James River Cellars Winery
$15

Chambourcin has often been considered the best of the French-American hybrid grape varieties of our time. It is a prolific grape that makes a medium bodied wine with a ruby red color.
This sweet wine is reminiscent of a port, just without the liquor kick in the finish. It displays fig and roasted nut profiles, with luscious legs that beckon to drinkers of both dry and sweet wines. Further the guilty pleasure when paired with chocolate, Chambourcin invokes different dynamics at each chilled, room, and warm temperatures.
Thanks!
