Outdoor Reception Tent

Additional Required Fees

Staffing Fee
$25.00/staff member/hour
- a minimum of 2 staff members are required for all events
- additional staff members may be required for full bar service - one for every 25 guests

Ceremony Fee
$200.00 flat fee
- includes additional time and staffing for rehearsal on a date prior to the wedding

Rental Inclusions

- each event booked with James River Cellars Winery receives exclusive access to all areas of our facility
- our reception tent and banquet room are available for use from 10:00am until 11:00pm,
allowing you to schedule your event around your needs
- outdoor reception tent rental includes tables, chairs, select linens, flatware and glassware for up to 150 guests
- our Tuscan-style banquet room includes tables, chairs, select linens and glassware for up to 50 guests
- we are happy to provide a complimentary wine tasting of six to eight wines of your choice
for your guests to enjoy during your event
- you and your photographer are invited to come in for a pre-scheduled time block
for bridal or engagement photos
- our reception tent is ideal for larger ceremonies, fundraisers, business socials,
networking events, and formal receptions
- 20% discount on all wine purchased for the event

Optional: James River Cellars Banquet Staff will provide all set-up, break down and clean up services
for an additional 20% service charge, in case these services are not provided by your caterer.

Facilities

Banquet Room
Is a private room overlooking the lawn and vineyard. It is ideal for business meetings, birthday parties, anniversaries, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and intimate wedding receptions. In the banquet room we can accomodate up to 50 people seated with round tables, or 60 people seated in a conference format for business meetings. The room can accommodate 60 people for cocktail style events.

The Lawn
Is a beautifully landscaped area that is able to accommodate up to 300 people. The lawn is perfect for larger wedding receptions, fundraising events, reunions, etc.

Outdoor Reception Tent
Our patio area, located in our spacious back lawn, is covered by a 40 x 60 framed tent. The area is able to accomodate up to 150 people for buffet style events or 200 for cocktail style. The raised patio area is the perfect setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, or any outside gatherings. Sides are available upon request.

Tents and tables
James River Cellars Winery has additional tents in three different sizes.
Please ask our Event Coordinator for pricing.
Event rentals include the use of our 60" round tables, select linens, standard chairs, banquet flatware, plates and wine glasses. Additional items or upgrades can be provided and are priced a la carte.

Gazebo
For wedding ceremonies James River Cellars Winery has a lovely wrought iron gazebo. It is available at no additional charge. The gazebo can be set up in various locations and decorated to suite your design.

Booking Requirements

To book an event we require a 50% non-refundable deposit, a signed contract, and a signed credit card authorization form for the $200.00 security deposit. The remainder of the facility rental fee and staffing charges are due 14 days prior to your event. The cost of the wine will be invoiced at the conclusion of the event and is due within 7 days. You will be responsible for clean-up, otherwise you will forfeit the security deposit.

Additional information

Rental equipment
If additional or alternative equipment is required, a list of rental companies can be provided. Outside equipment set-up can be done during business hours, removal should be scheduled on the day following the event. 

Privacy
The winery is open seven days a week. Private parties are allowed any time during normal business hours, but please note, that we can not close the main entrance of the winery to the public. After 6 p.m. the winery can be reserved exclusively for an event.

Catering

We do NOT have catering on site; you are welcome to bring in any caterer of your choice. You or your caterer are allowed to bring in beer (with ABC license), however liquor and outside wine are not permitted.
